Hotbed 2012 archive
Welcome to the Hotbed 2012 programme of events!
We have 12 main commissions (3 One Act Plays and 9 Monologues) on offer and a range of other fantanstic events.
Our 3 ONE ACT PLAYS are: Necessary Evil from emerging young writer, Ben Askew; Piglet from Writers’ Guild Award Winner, Ed Harris and Forgive Our Paranoia from the multiple Fringe First Winner, Chris O’Connell.
To complement the 3 main commissions, we have 9 short MONOLOGUES, including work from Bruntwood Award Winner, Janice Okoh, Steve Waters (The Bush, Hampstead Theatre) along with other well established and newer writers.
SILENT from Ireland’s leading new play company, Fishamble, is our guest production, and it is a show not to be missed. It was the hit of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2011, and it has won a plethora of awards, including a prestigious Fringe First.
If it is education and debate you are after, why not join our panel of experts for a discussion chaired by top theatre critic, Lyn Gardner, or participate in many other
WORKSHOPS, DISCUSSIONS and educational events on offer, including a masterclass from award-winning playwright, Mike Bartlett.
If you are looking for something a bit different, why not enjoy a monologue over breakfast, lunch or tea in our FOOD FOR THOUGHT series, or there is our HOTBED FILMS progamme, which includes work from local, regional and international film-makers.
Bringing all this to life will be a 9 strong ACTING ENSEMBLE featuring actors who have performed at the RSC, National Theatre and the Royal Court.
