The One-Page-Play-Competition-Athon is now a firmly established and much loved part of Hotbed Festival.  And it’s all for charity!  The winner – decided by the audience – gets to donate £250 to a charity of their choice. The winner from Hotbed November 2010 was Sean McSweeney with ‘The Volunteer’.

The deadline for submissions for the 2012 competition is 19th January.

All we need now is some creative writing from you!  To enter, just email your one-page-play to office@menagerie.uk.com

The one-page-plays can be about ANY subject from current politics to soap opera relationships. The possibilities are endless. The only RULES are:

• 1 Page of A4 only (10-12 point text)
• No more than 8 actors featured in the play
• The duration should be no longer than 4 minutes

We also have a YOUNG WRITERS category this year, so if you are aged 14-18, send in your entry. Just clearly mark the subject of your email as a YOUNG WRITERS entry.
